Boyne Valley Camino Walk in aid of Alzheimer’s centre

Boyne Valley Camino Walk in aid of Alzheimer’s centre

On Saturday July 25th a very special Boyne Valley Camino Walk took place to raise funds for the local Alzheimer branch at Tredagh Lodge Day Care centre.

The planned new Tredagh Lodge Day Care centre at Greenhills is the project to benefit from the day-long event, with walkers raising as much as they can for this vital service, which has been decades in the planning. It’s still not too late to sign up and take part.

‘If you would like to join us on the Boyne Valley Camino Walk and raise between €100 and €200 each for our new centre, we would still love to hear from you,’ says fund-raising committee chair Ann Shortt. Like the usual Boyne Valley Camino, the walk will start and end at St Peter’s Church, West St and the route is a mixture of riverside, greenway, wood paths, quiet country roads, canal paths and green fields’.

‘Alternatively, if you are unable to make it on the day but would still like to contribute, we invite you to take part in a virtual walk, in which you can complete the 25km over the course of the month of July,’ she explains. ‘This would simply include a donation of €20 to our iDonate page Tredagh Lodge virtual Camino walk.
