Frontline heroes raise €8,500 after walking 275 km for charity

The charity fundraiser brainstormed in early May aimed to raise awareness for the charities and their life saving work as well as raising vital funds.
Frontline heroes crossed the finish line today after walking 275km for charity over the last week.

Members of Irish frontline emergency services raised €8,500 after six days of walking through counties across south Leinster.

Over 20 different emergency services including Dublin Fire Brigade, Dublin Airport Fire Service and Dublin Civil Defence took part in the gruelling challenge to raise vital funds for ALONE and Pieta House charities.

The organising committee from Rescue Organisation Ireland (ROI) thanked the public and volunteers for their support and donations throughout the week.
Organisers have kept the donation page open for anyone who would like to donate further.
