GARDAI and Fire Fighters raised more than €50,000

GARDAI and fire fighters raised more than €50,000 for charity tonight after the two associations went head to head in a white collar boxing event.

Several members of An Garda Siochana fought it out with members of the Dublin Fire Brigade in Croke Park in order to raise money for Temple Street Children’s Hospital and the ARC Cancer Support Group.
Hundreds of people packed the Hogan Suite of the GAA headquarters in Dublin tonight for the event which has been considered a huge success.
The brawling gardai and fire fighters raised more than €50,000 at the event with more donations continuing to flood in tonight.
Irish Olympic boxing hero Michael Carruth was snapped at the event and even stepped into the ring to give some advice to the fighters.
